Home care and support

Home care, also known as domiciliary care, is care given within your home.

It could include:

  • Personal care and support, such as help with washing, dressing, toileting
  • Preparing and eating meals
  • Support to help you access and maintain links to your local community
  • Help with parenting
  • Support with employment and volunteering

How to access Home Care

The Council has agreements with several home care companies. To access home care, you will need to have a social care assessment from the Council.

You may need to contribute to the cost of your care. You will need to have a financial assessment to decide how much you might need to pay.
