Care home monitoring
All care homes must register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This is the national regulatory body for health and social care services. The CQC inspects each home and reports the findings on its website using a simple rating system.
The Council's Adult Commissioning Team monitors all commissioned care homes in Rotherham. They carry out an annual quality assessment of each care home. If they find that a care home does not meet the standards of quality expected, the Council helps them to improve.
If you have any complaints, compliments or suggestions about a care home, you should speak to a member of staff at the care home first.
