The Our Places Fund

Could your local area benefit?

Between 2021 and 2024, the Council made a multi-million pound commitment to deliver improvements to local towns and villages across all wards of the borough as part of the Towns & Villages Fund. The scheme focussed on areas that are important to communities and inspired a sense of pride in the area.

Here are some examples of the improvements made as part of the Towns & Villages Fund:

Wickersley

New surfacing to Bawtry Road with the addition of a resin bound footpath. The clock tower also had an industrial clean with uplighting installed to illuminate it at night and paving and planters fitted around it.

West Melton

Works to the green space on Masefield Road consisted of new footpaths, planting and seating to create a new focal point as well as the inclusion of a community Christmas tree. Improvements to the footways, lighting and other street furniture were also implemented.

Feedback from residents was very positive and demonstrated how the improvements enhanced much loved and well used spaces.

Following the success of the scheme, the Council has committed to investing in further capital improvements in local areas across the borough and has allocated £2m under the ‘Our Places’ Fund to focus on enhancing and upgrading public spaces.

If you think your local area would benefit from the Our Places funding, please complete the consultation below. It should take no more than 3 minutes. You are also encouraged to provide photos of specific areas for improvement.
