Changing from NatWest to Lloyds
Changes and Reasons
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) recently conducted a tender process for their banking services, and Lloyds was selected as the successful bidder.
Impact on You
This change will only affect you if you make payments to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council via standing order, bank transfer, or BACS payment.
If this is the case, you will need to instruct your bank to pay into the new Lloyds bank account details and cancel the old ones to NatWest bank to ensure your payments are correctly allocated.
Timeline for Changes
RMBC will continue to operate both NatWest and Lloyds bank accounts until the end of April 2025. This will allow customers time to update their banking details online or through their personal banking app, with help from family members, or by contacting their bank directly for assistance.
Required Actions
Set up new banking instructions. This can be done either via an online banking service, an online banking app, or by contacting your bank directly by telephone or in person.
If you bank online or through an online banking app, you will need to set up a new payee with the new Lloyds Bank details below.
Select the option to confirm that the new payee is a business or contact your bank and ask them to set up the new customer details.
If you do not bank online or via an online banking app, you should contact your bank directly to make this change.
Remember to cancel the old RMBC standing order to the NatWest bank (details mentioned below) to stop any future payment.
Consequences of Not Making Changes in Time
Don’t worry, the accounts will run simultaneously until the end of April 2025 and we will monitor this to ensure all our customers have transferred over to the new bank details before closing the old account.
Actions for Direct Debit Payments
Direct Debit customers do not need to take any action.
