The current gate has a faulty lock and is the old style green serrated edge top. This gate is not compliant with current Health and Safety Regulations in that the spiked top is hazardous if anyone had to climb over or tried to for access reasons. The gate is also not compliant with recent fire regulations as a key is needed to open the gate. The new gate will be fire and Health & Safety compliant and there will be a push handle so tenants can get out of the gate if required.
