Service description
I offer Ofsted rated outstanding* childcare, tailored made around each individual child in a in a quiet and secluded setting.
Squirrels Leap offers outstanding care and educational activities for all children under the age of 5 years, including those with special needs. The nursery environment is safe, secure and staffed by myself and my husband. We are both highly qualified and sensitive practitioners. All activities are carefully planned and provide the stimulation and stability your child deserves.
My dreams and ambition are to provide:
• peace of mind for all parents/carers by establishing positive relationships with your child and family.
• a safe and stimulating learning environment which meets the needs of each individual child through play.
• a flexible service wherever possible to meet the needs of the family.
• support for each child in their learning to enable them to reach their full potential.
• high standards of health and hygiene.
• compliance with Ofsted registration requirements.
I am qualified teacher and have taught in a variety of schools since 1999. I have experience of all key stages, including early foundation years. This gives me a unique insight to how best to shape programmes of play that will enable all children to build and explore the skills they will need for the future. I would hope to instil into all the children in my care a sense of adventure, creativity and a love to try all things new.
Daily activities that make up the programmes of play include treasure baskets, construction, baking, music making, dancing, singing, painting, story-telling (both from written and made-up stories) adventures, den making, gardening, scientific exploration, numeracy, messy play and lots more that include heuristic play ideas.
I am able to offer hours outside that of a larger nursery that can be tailor-made for your needs and that of a modern family. I am registered with Ofsted and I have the important paediatric first aid qualification alongside my degree, QTS and post graduate certificate in education.
I actively promote partnership with you as parent/carers and I recognise that you are the child''s first and most enduring educator and carer. I endeavour to work in partnership with you so that together we can have a positive impact on your child''s development.
On booking your childcare place at Squirrels Leap, you and your child will be invited to visit at least twice before your child''s start date. I encourage as many visits as possible as this is a vital time for you and your child. It enables your child to settle and begin to build relationships with me and my family. This will help you and your child to settle into the nursery routines, giving both of you the reassurance to feel safe and cared for.
I am committed to the inclusion of all children. I strongly believe that all children have the right to be cared for and educated to develop their full potential. It is important that all of the children develop and learn from each other through positive experiences. Every child has a gift to share, and I celebrate each child''s uniqueness with them.

We do accept childcare voucher schemes and the Early Educational Funding for both 15 and 30 hours. We are largely a term time only setting with some extra days and weeks around Easter and either side of the summer holidays.
