Working with Employers
Working with employers to identify maths skills needs of the workforce. Offering diagnostics assessment to employees and a blended model of online learning and face to face tuition to support mathematical development.

Sector-based programmes
This programme is designed to support learners in their chosen sector. By utilizing Century Tech trade specific courses we will improve the chances of the individuals. It will be a blended approach of face to face and online if possible. Progression routes on the accredited Functional Skills or GCSE will be promoted.

Managing Your Money
Small group sessions designed to support learners using maths skills to support with cost-of-living crisis. Sessions focus on creating household budgets, comparing prices to make money go further, managing bills and understanding how to make the home more energy efficient.


WEA

Cooking with Numbers
Learners will explore the choices we make when buying and cooking food. We will look at healthy cooking on a budget and develop essential number knowledge, including measuring, fractions, percentages and ratios.

Sewing and Saving
Learners will gain confidence in using numeracy for creative garment making, considering how to measure and convert measurements with confidence, budget effectively to produce low-cost items, and upcycle garments to save money. 

Household Budgeting
Learners will develop an understanding of how to save money and the facts behind money management, which will provide practical ways to deal with rising costs. This functional and engaging online course will enable learners to make choices to combat the cost-of-living crisis, control their finances, and find out the best ways to keep costs down.  

Helping Children with Maths
Learners will build their confidence in supporting their children with maths, by understanding how maths is used in everyday life, including children in activities involving numbers and measuring, such as shopping, cooking and travelling, and learning how children learn maths in school.

Healthy Cooking on a Budget
The course will involve meal planning on a budget and cover tips to keep food costs low. Learning how to plan a weekly menu of healthy meals for your family. The course will cover price comparisons for shopping, portioning, measurements, ratios, combining leftovers and time management. We will also cover budgeting on shopping. This will provide learners with real life practical maths skills and aid them to cope with the cost of living crises.


Premier learning

English and Numeracy in the workplace
This programme begins with identifying the specific Maths needs/ work interests of the individual to design programmes to meet their needs. The sessions look at numeracy in the workplace and how this can be used to support development of language for ESOL learners.

Pre entry ESOL and Numbers to Survive
This course embeds numeracy alongside the teaching of ESOL. The language of Maths will be explored through practical learning sessions that meet the maths need of the learner and supports learners in grasping the language of maths.

Let’s Get Crafty and Cooking with Numbers
Work in alliance with local primary schools, these sessions will target parents wanting to better support their children with homework. Families will explore mathematical concepts through crafts and cooking, making maths accessible and enjoyable for all.

A 6-week (6-hour) programme will include a mixture of health & fitness activities alongside developing numeracy skills. 

Build your Confidence in Maths
Drop in individual support sessions that include numeracy activities supporting with budgeting, money management and exploring formal learning opportunities.

Millers Maths and Football
Courses aimed to support those accessing football and wellbeing programmes focusing on engaging BAME and refugees. Designed to increase confidence with numbers for those needing the first steps towards formal numeracy qualifications.

Maths Café
Drop in group sessions which include support in money management, exploring formal learning opportunities and budgeting.

Gym Warm Up
An introduction to how maths is used with fitness and nutrition. Includes a maths consultation linked with gym-based activities, focus on using National Numeracy to identify specific Maths needs. Free Gym session once completed Maths Check Up.

Make It Work
Exploring how Maths is a valuable transferable skill when looking for employment. Maths Skills sessions link with real life job application. Using the gym as a work experience study.

Gym Warm Up
Maths based icebreaker activities in a supportive environment. Engaging learners in math games using gym equipment, combining fitness and math. 

Getting Number Fit
A course that uses maths to support fitness, wellbeing and healthy living. Some of the topics covered include: Smart shopping, cooking of a budget, understanding macros, and calculating nutrition goals, ratios for fitness.


Creative learning center 

Metre of Muffins
In this creative session, adult learners will explore a range of maths skills to build their confidence with using weights, measures, and distance. The aim is that each learner will make half a metre of muffins. 

Makers Market
Adult Learners will design and create a range of crafts items to be sold. Learners will be required to monitor the cost of the individual resources they use. They will need to add the costs together in order to work out the final net cost of each creative piece.

Wacky Races
Families will be asked to design and create their very own Super Car using a range of resources ‘for sale’. Families will be given a budget and will have to visit the Pit Shop in order to purchase the different elements they need to build their car.

Initial conversation session, identifying Maths needs for employability linked to digital needs.

Employability: Reasoning with Data
Exploring Maths and interpreting data using Excel. Supporting data management in the workplace and in every day life.

Understanding Primary Maths
Delivered to key parents following conversations with teachers to identify students needing support at home with their Maths. Supports adults with understanding key areas of the Primary Maths curriculum.


Affinity

Numeracy for Work
Understanding the application of numeracy for jobs and careers. Employer led sessions with numeracy work-related projects for work in different sectors eg Construction, Manufacturing, and Engineering.

Earning and Learning
Demystifying and developing knowledge and understanding on wage slips, National Insurance, Tax, overtime, Understanding zero hour contracts, overtime, salaries versus wages. Working from home versus at work.

Family Learning
Engaging parents in maths learning with their children. Activities range from baking to model-making family learning sessions.

Understanding KS1/ KS2 Maths
Parents enrol in a 4-week course built on basic maths skills. Four operation calculations, fractions and shape space and measures.
