Consequences of Housing Fraud
For those found to have committed Housing Fraud, the consequences can be severe.
Possible consequences of Housing Fraud:
- Your tenancy may be terminated
- You may be restricted from the social housing register
- You may receive a fine of up to £5000
- You have be given a custodial sentence, of up to 10 years
- The court may make an Unlawful Profit Order to take back any profits made from fraudulent activity
- A court may make a confiscation order if you have been found to have financially benefited from Housing Fraud
