What is Sight and hearing loss?
This page provides links to organisations that can provide support if you have sight or hearing loss. It also explains how the Council can help you.
If you or someone you know has any sight or hearing loss that affects daily life, there are a range of services and information you can access for support.
You can get information, advice and support, equipment, meet other people, join in with a social activity or have a drink and a bite to eat in the café at Rotherham Sight and Sound.

How we can help
Specialist sensory officers can provide support. This might include:
- access to services, information, and advice for you or someone you care for
- support with communication
- linking you with other organisations that can help you
- training and help to get around independently inside and outside of your home
- independent living skills for tasks in the home, like safe food and drink preparation
You may also benefit from a social care assessment if you need more support.

If you have dual sensory loss, we offer specialist advice and support. We can also provide advice and support to carers and relatives.
