This October we are running lots of fun events across Rotherham.

Plug In and Play

Plug In and Play with the National Videogame Museum and Children’s Capital of Culture as you join a nature inspired videogame adventure in Rotherham this October half-term. 

Grab your trail map from the Plug In and Play hub in All Saints Square from 31 October to 2 November, 11am to 3pm and complete your quest by collecting stickers as you explore eight venues throughout Rotherham, taking part in unique family fun activities and creative videogame inspired arts and crafts activities.

10k Fun Run at Rother Valley Country Park

The Sheffield City 10K Charity Fun Run takes place on 13 October at Rother Valley Country Park.

Get ready to lace up and conquer the scenic trails of Rother Valley Country Park in the exhilarating Sheffield 10k. The course is well-marked to highlight the park’s magnificent landscapes, allowing you to travelling through the picturesque trails of Rother Valley, taking in the stunning scenery with each step. 

Whether you're a seasoned athlete aiming for a personal best or a first-time runner seeking an exciting challenge, the Sheffield 10k promises to be a great event.

Dad’s Army Radio Show

The Dad’s Army Radio Show takes place on 3 October at 7:30pm at Rotherham Civic Theatre. The nation’s favourite sitcom returns! The boys are delighted to head to Rotherham Civic Theatre with three new episodes.

Two actors, two microphones, over twenty-five characters - and lots of sound effects! The Dad’s Army Radio Show brings Perry and Croft’s classic BBC comedy to life in this highly acclaimed stage production.

Parkruns

Rother Valley parkrun in Rother Valley Country Park and the Rotherham parkrun in Clifton Park usually take place on Saturday's at 9am.

Please note that these are not Council run events but led by volunteers.

Save the Date: Christmas Lights' Switch-on

We'll be welcoming the festive season to the borough with the Christmas Lights' Switch-on in Rotherham Town Centre on Saturday 16th November.  The event will start at 3pm with a brilliant programme of live music on stage in All Saints Square, fun street theatre, a gift market and more. This family-friendly event will culminate in the lights' switch-on at 6pm with the switch being flicked by The Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Sheila Cowen.

Rotherham Libraries

Rotherham Libraries host regular weekly activities across the borough such as: Lego clubs, Rhymetimes, computer classes, knit and natter groups, advice sessions, craft sessions, readers groups and local history groups.

Rotherham Museums

Exhibition: Our Habitats, Our Home
Our beloved taxidermy brown bear is back to explore the past, present, and future of Rotherham’s habitats in this family friendly exhibition. Come along to Clifton Park Museum find out about how Marco the bear’s search for evidence of his ancestors is going. Find out more here.

Rotherham Theatres

Robin Hood and his Merry Band are far from merry.  The evil Sherriff of Nottingham has raised taxes yet again and the rumour is Maid Marion has escaped into Sherwood Forest with Penny and Peter, the Sherriff’s niece and nephew.  Robin has to inspire Friar Tuck, Little Jane and Will Scarlett to help feed the poor of Nottingham, rescue Maid Marion and save the babes in the wood.
