Tenants from across the borough came together for Rotherham Council’s annual Tenants’ Open Day.
The event at the New York Stadium was a chance for tenants to come together and look back at key achievements of the Council and tenants over the last year.
The Council also launched its Annual Housing Report and introduced its Housing Strategy consultation to enable tenants to help shape our key priorities for the next three years.
Tenants also had the chance to speak with Council services and ask questions of staff.
Council tenant Jordan attended the event and said: “It was amazing to see all the work everyone has been doing. All the questions have been really good too.”
Fellow tenant Zoe said she enjoyed tenants being given the opportunity to have their say on Council services.
She added: “Lots of information was given, we were made welcome and were looked after by all involved.”
Rotherham Council’s Cabinet member for Housing, Cllr Sarah Allen, said: “I was delighted to meet and speak with lots of tenants at this year’s open day.
“As a Council we will aways ensure the voices of our tenants are heard and involve our tenants in how they can help shape and influence our services.
“We take pride in our commitment to engagement, and we take every opportunity to involve residents in decision making. Events such as the Tenants’ Open Day play a key part in this.”
