Rotherham Council has launched Rotherham Learning Academy for skills development for staff as Council continues its ambition to become outstanding.
Rotherham Council’s Children and Young People’s Services are cementing their bid to become an employer of choice with the launch of the Rotherham Learning Academy.
The Council is committed to making sure that every child is resilient, successful and safe, and aims to fulfil this commitment by ensuring all staff who support young people and their families have the best training and qualifications available.
Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, Cllr Victoria Cusworth, said: “The investment in the Rotherham Learning Academy will give our staff the tools they need to fulfil the key objective for the Children and Young People’s Services, which is to ensure that every child has the best start in life.
“The Academy is proof that with a commitment to skills development within our workforce, we can continue to ensure the Children and Young People’s Services is a fantastic place to both start and build a career, equipping our workforces the right skills they need, to deliver for the children and residents of Rotherham.”
With a range of vacancies available across the service, from working in Children’s Social Care and Residential Care to supporting children and families in the Family Help Service, Business Support, Commissioning, Schools Admissions and SEND support, the development of the Academy, led by the Principal Social Worker, will give staff members the opportunity to develop new skills and reflect on their learning.
