Magna Tram-train park and ride

The first Tram-Train network expansion since its opening in 2018, this ambitious project aims to introduce a new stop along the Tram Train route at Magna along with the creation of a new park and ride site, serving both Sheffield and Rotherham.

Utilising under used car parking spaces at the Science Adventure Park, the new stop and park and ride will link up with the Sheffield Road Cycleways scheme, ensuring that residents, visitors and commuters have a range of active travel options to reach the new public transport link.

The project is being delivered by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) with funding secured from the Department for Transport’s Transforming Cities Fund and the cooperation of Network Rail.

The scheme is scheduled to be completed and operational in December 2025.
