Homelessness: Financial difficulty

Financial support available

Please download the ‘Your Money, Your Choice’ booklet, which provides information about organisations offering help and advice as well as affordable credit and banking services to help you borrow responsibly.

Breathing Space

The Breathing Space scheme can help if you are struggling by freezing payment demands and legal action while you get free debt advice. You can only be put on the Breathing Space scheme by a regulated debt advisor, such as from StepChange, Citizens Advice or National Debtline. A mental health provider can also apply for mental health crisis breathing space on your behalf, which will be reviewed by the charity Rethink.
