Sheltered accommodation is long-term housing for people who want to live independently but might need some support. It's usually for those aged 55+ or people with disabilities, like dementia. The homes are small and easy to manage, with staff available when needed.

Extra Care Housing (ECH)
Extra Care Housing is for people over 55 who need different levels of housing support. There are two ECH sites in Rotherham: Potteries Court in Swinton and Bakers Field Court in Herringthorpe. Both offer high-quality homes to help people stay independent. These homes are owned by Together Housing.
- Potteries Court has 35 high-quality apartments (1 and 2 bedrooms) and bungalows.
- Bakers Field Court has 55 high-quality apartments and bungalows (2 bedrooms).
To be eligible for these homes, you need to apply and be accepted on the housing register. You also need to apply on medical grounds. There is a long waiting list for these properties.
