Is the property suitable for my needs?
If the statutory succession would lead to under occupancy, overcrowding, or occupation of an unsuitable property for your needs or an adapted property which you don’t require, you should discuss this with the Area Housing Officer, who can offer support and advice in looking for suitable alternative accommodation.
This does not affect your statutory right to succeed to the tenancy.
If a discretionary tenancy is considered, the suitability of the property for your needs will be considered in line with the Housing Allocations policy, if this does not meet the policy, when appropriate, this will be decided by a Housing Assessment Panel.
