Equipment for your home
The Occupational Therapist can give you information about equipment that can help you with your day-to-day activities. We can also give you advice and information on where you can buy basic equipment. Some types of equipment can be loaned to you free of charge.
Here are some examples of some equipment that might be recommended:
- Toilet frame
- Perching stool
- Bed lever
For walking sticks and frames, please ask your GP to refer you for physiotherapy.
You can self-refer for a manual (not powered) wheelchair at Blatchford. You could also ask your GP to refer you to the Wheelchair Service.
If you need advice or basic equipment such as grab rails, we may be able to arrange this without visiting you at home.
If you need up to three grab rails or stair rails, you can request them from our Housing Team by phoning 01709 336009.
