Consultation so far
Between July 2024 and January 2025, we carried out 22 engagement sessions to gather feedback on sustainable transport improvements for Fitzwilliam Road and St Ann’s Roundabout as well as general perceptions of Active Travel and Public transport infrastructure in the area.
Engagement activities included:
- 12 hours of Drop-in Sessions – Providing opportunity for residents, businesses and community organisations to learn more and speak to the project team.
- 8 Pop Up Public Events – Held at town markets and local community shows and leisure centres, Family Hubs and, University and College Open days.
- 3 Focus groups – Engaging specific demographic groups.
- 2 Online Surveys – Receiving feedback from nearly 300 respondents.
- 5 Faith Centre drop ins – To build awareness of the scheme and opportunity to ask questions
- 5 School & College Engagements – Working with student councils and special educational needs (SEN) groups.
- 2 Neighbourhood Walk & Talk Events – Identifying local accessibility and road safety concerns.
- 1 Workshop – Attended by >60 interested parties to gain in depth understanding of community opinions.
- 1 Councillor Design Solutions Meeting – Discussing key opportunities and challenges with your elected officials.
This consultation has shaped the development of proposals while identifying additional opportunities to enhance public transport, walking, and cycling. The £4.6 million secured funding will support community-driven solutions aimed at improving transport infrastructure and accessibility.
