The Housing Property Service (Repairs and Maintenance)
Responsible for the management, repair, and maintenance of internal communal areas, including fire safety measures, the physical fabric and interior decoration. In addition, the maintenance and repair of external areas such as unadopted footpaths (these are paths belonging to the landowner: Housing), clothes drying areas, sheds/outbuildings, bin stores, boundary fencing and gates etc.
The Council’s Facilities Services (Cleaning Team)
Undertakes weekly cleaning to internal communal areas and entrances, in addition to an annual deep clean. This only applies to apartment blocks with enclosed communal areas and neighbourhood centres.
The Council’s Environmental Services (Gardening Work)
Undertakes scheduled maintenance to communal grassed areas, shrub beds and hedges, which form the designated amenity space to apartment blocks, bungalow complexes and within the wider estate environment.
The Council’s Trees and Woodlands Service
Maintains any trees situated in communal grounds of Council apartment blocks, on Council Housing estates and Council land more generally. The Tree Service also advice Housing on Tree Issues in Council home gardens.
The Councils Green Spaces Service (Play Areas)
Carry out monthly inspections and an annual inspection by way of a report on housing play areas. These are play areas located on housing land, provided by the housing service.

Carry out works including litter picking, removal of fly tipping, removal of graffiti, removal of moss, self-sets, weeds, and shrubs from communal unadopted footpaths (these are paths belonging to the landowner: Housing) and winter weather gritting.
