Empty Homes Plan
The Rotherham Empty Homes Plan 2025 to 2029 sets out a number of ways in which the Council will support and encourage homeowners to bring empty properties back into use whilst working to reduce the number of long-term empty properties, which cause blight in our neighbourhoods.
The interventions, included within the plan, will range from working with owners, providing information, advice, or incentives through to using enforcement activity to address the negative impact that problematic long-term properties can have on our communities.
The plan also sets out a number of targets for bringing empty properties back into use. For example, the Council aims to bring 30 empty private properties back into use during 2025/26.
The plan also includes a number of case studies of successful interventions, as well as data on the number of empty properties in Rotherham.
