Conditions of occupation
When you move into temporary accommodation you will sign an Occupancy Agreement explaining your responsibilities and the Council’s responsibilities.
You must live in the property that is provided. If you are not living in the property, the Council may end its duty to you, meaning you would have to leave the property and may not receive further assistance from the Council. If you need to be absent from your accommodation for any period of time, then you must notify your Homeless Officer.
You must provide all information requested by your Homeless Officer to support your application.
If you are eligible to join the Housing Register, then you should make an application to Housing Options for Council housing and you must also look for private rented housing whilst you are placed in temporary accommodation. Your Homeless Officer will let you know if you are eligible to join the housing register.
If you break the terms of the Occupancy Agreement, you may be asked to leave the accommodation.
