Homelessness: Temporary accommodation

What you need to do when waiting for permanent accommodation

Whilst you are waiting for permanent accommodation:

  • You must continue to pay your contribution if applicable for the temporary accommodation and abide by the rules in the Occupancy Agreement. Failure to do so may result in you being asked to leave the temporary accommodation, and you may not get further help from the Council
  • Continue to work with your Homeless Officer and to look for permanent accommodation. View the housing options available.
  • Aim to save around four weeks rent, which could be required for rent in advance or a bond
  • Consider how you will secure carpets, furniture and white goods for your new home

If you have any questions or concerns about your stay in temporary accommodation, please contact the homeless team.
