How else we're protecting Whiston from the impacts of flooding

Additional interventions

As part of the scheme, further interventions to protect Whiston from the impacts of flooding. These include:

  1. Lowering the kerb in the downstream face of the bridge along Moorhouse Lane to allow water to re-enter Whiston Brook
  2. Installing a road hump on Alma Row to increase surface water flow back into the Brook
  3. Improvements of maintenance schemes to prioritise clearing gullies.
